look book: pleat party

I felt like a little princess in this outfit. Pleats. Ankle Strap Heels. Floral Puff Sleeve Sweater. All I wanted to do was twirl and twirl around. Do you ever do things and not care what people think? Sometimes I'm guilty of this {way too often.} Like when I made Matthew twirl and dip me after dinner on Saturday night {cute} and then when I started doing Grease moves in the grocery store {not so cute, although pretty funny for those in the cereal aisle}. I can hand jive, can you?

look book: one in a vermillion

Did you know that vermillion means "of a vivid red to reddish-orange color?" Well, apparently it does, and when I looked up the word in the dictionary this jacket was staring right back at me. I found this blazer the same day I found the Ralph Lauren one. It was $6 bucks of awesome and real wool too! If I didn't believe in the magic of thrift stores before, I do now! This jacket is one in a vermillion! {hehe sorry couldn't help myself!}
jacket and belt thrifted, dress {as a top} and skirt J. Crew, tights Target, purse c/o Spotted Moth, Doctor Doctor Bag necklace IHOD

And in case you were wondering, the photos haven't been edited. The jacket really IS that bright!

look book: spring cleaning

What can I say..sometimes I have to make cleaning a little fun! I'm altering a really cute black and white polka dot dress and instead of throwing away the scraps I decided to save it for a little turban. I'm kind of obsessed with it now!

Rosie the Riveter?

hehe cheesy shots! {& procrastinating like usual!}

shirt J.Crew, cutoff shorts made from an old pair of Seven For All Mankind, shoes $4 from Hot Topic, turban me!, lipstick Estée Lauder Rich Red, earrings Lu Shae Jewelry

Sarah from LuShae Jewelry sent over these pretty earrings and I love them..especially since they look so real! They have a timeless look yet are still great to wear everyday. Thanks Sarah!

look book: jjjump jump

We seized that sunny little day by jumping around my front yard. Yes, sometimes we're like little kids..getting our jumps & rock moves on. {It's pretty fun you should try it!!} Notice my "I Love You" sign..not intentional I just didn't know the right one for "Rock On!" {Or whatever it's supposed to mean} haha I gave us both scores of 10 though!

So, it was a fun weekend planning New York. Our trip pretty much revolves around food which is PERFECT! And I get to see not only my uncles, but also a close family friend who is in a play off-Broadway! I couldn't be move excited. Seeing that our flight is at 7 am tomorrow I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to post before we leave. But I'll be tweeting away and can't wait to share all the stories once we get back next Sunday!

oh hi Christmas tree

I was planning on saying this is the closest Matthew and I will get to snow this year..but then I found out Matthew is going to New York in January. And guess who he's bring along?! ME! So perhaps there will be some snow in New York. I am so excited because I haven't been to NYC since I was 14 years old {so long ago!}. I'm excited to see one of my favorite cities with the man I love and even if it's not during the romantic holiday time it will still be special!
Look at those itty bitty trees..so cute! Matthew and I picked out a pretty cute one, strapped it to the top of his tiny car and moved it in his apartment. It was so light I didn't even have to help! Woo hoo for holiday spirit!

leather love

Back in March I got Matthew a Nikon D40 for our 1 year anniversary. Here we are the other week playing around with it. This boy makes me laugh.

I might need some camera lessons since I've never used one of these before. But I still think they're pretty cute. Also I love the leather skirt I'm wearing. I found it at the Goodwill for $10!! Unfortunately I didn't take any good outfit shots. I guess I'll have to wear it again soon!

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend! The Santa Barbara trip was fun but I didn't find my camera. Good thing Black Friday is coming up! I dragged Matthew to New Moon {twice in opening weekend..that's a first for sure!} Of course he liked the books way better..yes I made him read them! sigh what would he do without me!

magical fruit

Last night Matthew and I went to Poquito Mas for some tasty Mexican food. I wasn't that hungry so I just got a side of rice and beans with chips. Matthew kept talking about me and the magical fruit." I didn't get it and then he started singing this little song:

beans, beans, the magical fruit, the more you eat, the more you toot!
the more you toot, the better you feel, so eat some beans with every meal!

I couldn't stop laughing! I have never heard that song before but he swears every 10 year old does. Maybe just the boys? I looked it up online and apparently it was referenced in a couple Simpson's episodes.. that makes sense. Either way I love my silly {and oftentimes inappropriate} boyfriend! And I also love me some beans!!
