back to college

I realized I never posted about going up to Berkeley a couple weekends ago! Since we graduated, my really good friend Mal and I try to go up for at least one game a season {last year I think it was for Homecoming}. This year it was Cal vs. UCLA so I was kinda forced to cheer for both sides since Matthew was a Bruin. He tells me all the time that the Bears and Bruins are best friends and they're on the same side against USC and Stanford. hmm..I guess so. Mal and I stayed with her good friend Jenna in San Francisco and it was so fun to be there during a big weekend when the whole city was celebrating {the Giants won, Cal won, and Staford won}.

It was so nice to go up and see all my friends who still live in the city and also to spend lots of time with Mal. We were roomies and worked at the same job, so we always say how great it was to live together, work together, study together {me mostly, her not so much}, play together and sleep together {separate beds of course}! It's hard not seeing someone as much when you're used to seeing them pretty much 24/7. But, luckily we still make the time!

The winner of the Mr. Kate Bark Ear Cuff is...Illy from Much Love, Illy! Congrats! {send me your info}

I hope everyone had a grrrreat weekend! I'm luckily back on Pacific Standard Time and I'll be posting about my trip to Pittsburgh tomorrow!

bi-rite cremery

I've heard so many awesome things about Bi-Rite Cremery in SF, so when Matthew and I were up there we had to make a trip. They were even mentioned on the Food Network Channel! I got a cup of the popular Burnt Caramel and it was really good! Matthew got the Malted Vanilla with Pecan Brittle and Milk Chocolate. Personally I'm not a fan of anything malt but Matthew liked it. side note: I hate eating ice cream on a wooden spoon! The taste of wood is terrible!!

I still have to say that Ici is my favorite. So if you're in the Bay Area and want some homemade ice cream I'd go to Berkeley!

Thanks for all your advice and support regarding yesterday's post. Wedding planning can be such a stressful time and I think I let it get the best of me. I'm feeling much better today!

look book: an afternoon in south park

One of my favorite areas in San Francisco is South Park. There is a little park in the middle that's surrounded by these cute little shops and artsy businesses. Matthew and I have a favorite brunch place there called The Butler and the Chef. It's French and delicious {obviously!}

denim shirt thrifted, dress Modcloth, shoes Steven by Steve Madden "Melin," purse Coach via ebay

This is the Coach purse I got an ebay for $10! I wasn't sure if the ivory color would look too dirty white but I think it's just right. And, in case you were wondering, these pictures were taken the afternoon before the proposal so that's why my finger is sans ring. It's crazy how in such a short amount of time a ring can become such a big part of who you are.

brunch at la boulange

On Saturday Matthew and I went to Cow Hollow in SF to meet Caroline and her husband Marc. It's so great when you can meet someone and just feel like you're already friends. I guess that's what blogging does to you! They were the sweetest, most down to earth people and we're definitely looking forward to seeing them again! We went to La Boulange which is this adorable little French bakery where I had the best chai latte I have everrr had! {thanks for the recommendation Caroline!}

I love how there are always new places to explore in San Francisco. It makes going up there all the more fun!

walnut grove, pt. 2 and san francisco

Here are the final pictures from my Thanksgiving weekend. Isn't my Aunt and Uncle's house beautiful? It is even more gorgeous on the inside. I can't wait to decorate my own house one day! And if I have a Victorian home? Even better!

Friday we went to SF and met up with my godmother Susie. We went to the Richard Avedon exhibit at the MOMA, ate lunch in South Park, shopped at Jeremy's {my fav}, and ate the most delicious cupcakes I've ever had in my life..and trust me I've had a lot!! Plus we went to some amazing restaurants, like Boulevard!

phew long post! Just looking at these pictures make me miss the beautiful Bay Area..and crave another chocolate ganache cupcake with caramel and sea salt {uh..YUM!}

I'm so excited about this weekend. I'm going Christmas shopping..trying not to procrastinate like I do every year! And tomorrow night I'm going to Matthew's work's holiday party! It's at the Petersen Automotive Museum and includes hors d'oeuvres, rolling dim sum cart, 3 food stations themed to the car galleries and desserts, photo booths, DJ, and an open bar. Woo hoo! Plus I'm wearing this gorgeous Elizabeth + James dress that I got last weekend on sale at Jeremy's! So ridiculously excited!!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
